Each year, millions of tourists visit the West Norwegian Fjords. The most popular "Tourist Fjords" are the Geirangerfjord and Romsdalsfjord in Møre & Romsdal, the Aurlandsfjord, Nærøyfjord and Sognefjord in Sogn & Fjordane, the Hardangerfjord in Hordaland and the Lysefjord in Rogaland. There are a great deal of activity along our fjords. Most of the villages and towns has their own small festival or arrangement. If you check up in advance, you may go from place to place and experience local festivals and curiosities and meet locals and tourists in a fine and festive atmosphere. Activities
What does the visiting tourists do during their stay in Fjord Norway? Various things of course. Some travel around to see, sense and to taste. Some will see the most famous fjord and maybe experience it from a boat. Some comes to set world records. More and more tourists want to have a active holiday in a fantastic and scenic landscape; summerskiing, climbing in the mountains, kayaking in the fjords or the rivers, rafting in the rivers, walk on the glaciers, cycle along beautiful and hidden roads or just walk from fjord to mountain and enjoy the view from the top.
We recommend you to stay for a while when you visit us. Bring your tent and find a peaceful spot along the fjord, in the valley or in the mountain. Or stay at the finest hotel with view over the fjords and mountains. Find your "Base Camp", stop the time and take a step aside.
