At Hellesylt you continue with bus/ferries through the wild and beautiful Norangsdalen towards Ålesund, the end point of this journey. The Norangsdalen valley is said to be the narrowest valley in Norway. In 1908 a landslide covered the river in the valley. This created the lake Lyngstøylvatnet. At calm water you can still see remainders of the houses and mountain pastures which were located along the former river. Today this is a popular goal for divers. At the end of Norangsdalen you arrive at the small parish Øye with the spectacular Union Øye Hotel. The hotel from the year 1893 is worth a visit, and if you go to see "the blue room" you might see the ghost visiting the room. |
