Welcome to Northern Norway with the Helgelandskysten Coast and Lofoten Isles. Here you have endless white beaches, thousands of isles, steep mountains ending straight into the Atlantic Ocean, fjords, old fishing villages and the midnight sun. You can play golf 24 hrs a day...the sun never goes down in Northern Norway. Endless adventures like kayaking, whale safari, diving, fishing trips in the Atlantic Ocean, eating local delicacies, mountaineering, climbing, cycling and skiing from the top of the mountains down to the ocean. Below you will find a short travelogue with some pictures from the Helgelandskysten Coast and from a cycling adventure in Lofoten, 2007. Enjoy!

The first pictures are from Rørvik near the fantastic and beautiful Coastal Highway. This road is a "must" for tourists on their way north. The Coastal Highway runs along the Helgelandskysten Coast in Nordland. It starts at Steinkjer in Trøndelag and ends at Bodø in Nordland. There are "plenty" of beautiful nature and numerous ferries on the way towards Bodø, where we parked the car.
We arrived Svolvær in Lofoten with Hurtigruten (the Norwegian Coastal Voyage) and cycled via Kabelvåg to Henningsvær the first day. We continued to Hov at Gimsøy with its golf course and fantastic beach. Daylight 24 hours. From there we cycled to Stamsund via Leknes and Gravdal to Ballstad. At Ballstad we boarded the bicycle boat to Nusfjord and continued around the half part of the Flakstadøya Isle, passing Ramberg and Moskenes towards Reine. The last day we did some sightseeing between Reine and Å. |
