Fjords.com is a private and unofficial website with information about the most beautiful fjords in the three fjord counties of Møre og Romsdal, Vestland and Rogaland in Western Norway.

This website is created by Øyvind Heen, born and raised in Isfjorden by the Romsdalsfjord. I lived in Sogndal by the Sognefjord during my studies in the 80s. Then I moved to Bergen near the Hardangerfjord and lived there for a few years before I had a year in Stavanger, which is the gateway to the Lysefjord. After that it was back to Bergen for another year before I finally ended up in Oslo by the Oslofjord.

Since I am lucky enough to have lived near so many beautiful fjords in Western Norway, I have had a wonderful opportunity to explore and get to know large parts of Western Norway and the fjords.

After I moved to Oslo, I have continued to visit Western Norway. There have been countless road trips towards west with kayak and skis on the roof of the car and with camera and video camera in the rucksack.

Most of the text, photos and videos on this website are from my adventures in Western Norway. They have been collected through more than 25 years of fantastic adventures in kayak, on skis and with my mountain boots on.

Text, photos and videos are from my personal experiences and are about how I see Western Norway as an area to visit and to explore. I hope this will inspire you to come and visit the fjords, and maybe help you to find places to go, places to stay and things to see and do.

In addition to my own websites, I operated the websites of Åndalsnes and Romsdal Reiselivslag for seven years, from 2003 to 2009. I did this job for free, it consisted of operating six websites in addition to writing articles and photographing and editing images for the articles.

The websites that were operated were Visit Åndalsnes, Romsdal Alps, Rauma Railway, Trollstigen, Trollveggen and the Romsdalsfjord.

I also worked part-time for visitnorway.com in 2010, during my free periods when I was working in the North Sea.

Finally… as an American tourist so brilliantly put it when he was on a fjord cruise on the Aurlandsfjord and the Nærøyfjord:

– Nothing can compare to this incredible beauty!
