Take a short detour by car from Riksvei 64 in Torvika, and you will arrive in Klungnes. Torvika and Klungnes are located between Åndalsnes and Åfarnes.

Torvika and Klungnes, 2.5 kilometer road with epic view
The scenery from the road between Torvika and Klungnes is out of this world.
From the start at Torvika you have a beautiful view towards the inner part of the Romsdalsfjord, towards Isfjorden with Mt Kirketaket and Juratind, and towards Åndalsnes and Romsdalseggen Mountain Ridge.
Continue towards Klungnes at the outer part of the road, and you can see straight across the Romsdalsfjord to Innfjorden with it´s surrounding mountains.
It is very nice to stroll along the road between Torvika and Klungnes. Then you take in so much more of the nature, the view, the sounds and smells of the fjord, the flowers and the animals.

Torvika and Klungnes – History
Klungnes is known to be the historic place where the Scottish mercenary George Sinclair and his army went ashore in August 1612 on their way to fight in the Kalmar War, a war between Denmark-Norway Union and Sweden.
The outdoor theater Sinclairspelet based on this historical event was arranged at Klungnes between year 2002 and 2008.

Travel green to Åndalsnes with Rauma Railway, a wild, beautiful and unique experience regardless of season. From Åndalsnes Railway Station, you can walk straight from the train and over to the Romsdal Gondola that takes you up to the city-mountain Mt Nesaksla and Eggen Restaurant.
From Mt Nesaksla you have a fantastic view towards Isfjorden, down to the Romsdalsfjord and up towards the Romsdalen Valley which you have just experienced from the train ride along the Rauma Railway. The Romsdalsfjord is located in the county of Møre og Romsdal, north in Western Norway.
